20-20 Fusion, the leading developer of design and visualisation software for the KBB sector, has won the prestigious Training Achievement award from National Home Improvement Council (NHIC). The award was sponsored by the Bathroom Manufacturers Association Bathroom Academy and is given to an organisation that has shown exceptional commitment to training and development within the bathroom industry.
“We are delighted to have won this award as it recognises the time and focus that we put into training,” says Craig Rothwell, managing director, 20-20 Fusion. “We believe in encouraging new enthusiastic, talented blood into the KBB market and believe it is important to involve ourselves in vocational training. Receiving this recognition and praise not only reinforces our drive to continue doing so, but will hopefully encourage others to also invest into the future of the industry.”
20-20 Fusion, contributed to The Bathroom Academy’s new industry guide: CAD for bathrooms. An informative, generic publication, the guide aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the exciting world of computer aided design (CAD) and form the basis for continuing individuals’ professional development within the bathroom industry, as part of the Academy's Bathroom Studies Certification Course.
20-20 Fusion supplied an online ‘play site’ to the Bathroom Academy where users can click into the software for a live demonstration and to explore its easy to use functions, features and photorealistic designs. It allows Bathroom Academy users to experience how CAD can be used for bathroom design and to visualise how a room can look with different ranges, colours and room styles. The site provides a small sample of functions compared to what the full Fusion software is capable of. Highly intuitive, it brings designs to life so that they look just like a photograph of a real working bathroom. Fusion users can access up-to-date manufacturer’s catalogues to select exact representations of products – and drag and drop them into a design.
20-20 Fusion also joined forces with the Kitchens Bedrooms & Bathrooms National Training Group (NTG) and South Nottingham College to spearhead a new initiative which focused on attracting young design talent into the industry. They donated 15 licences of its flagship Fusion software and a programme of user training to support the creation of a two-year vocational training course at South Nottingham College aimed specifically at 14 to 16 year old school children.
As the winners of the training achievement award, judges commented on 20-20 Fusion’s achievement and their involvement in CAD for bathrooms : “An inspirational concept that should go a long way to encouraging young people, in particular, to become part of an extremely important and progressive industry. Also, it makes the essential role of the designer and specifier considerably more effective in accessing and implementing the latest and most efficient products and services for successful bathroom improvements.”
“The home improvement industry is a great place to begin a career with so many opportunities to fulfil a long term rewarding profession,” Craig Rothwell added. “With a massive increase in the use of technology such as CAD it opens up even more opportunities for the future and becomes even more attractive to the younger generation. 20-20 Fusion is developing further relationships and offering subsidised software to support CAD training courses in encouraging even more people into the industry.”
