29/07/08PLANIT FUSION PROVIDES 'PLAY SITE' FOR GENERIC INDUSTRY GUIDE

Another training initiative from The Bathroom Academy

29th July 2008: The Bathroom Academy, a division of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association, announces the launch of its new industry guide CAD for bathrooms - an informative, generic guide that aims to form the basis for continuing individuals’ professional development within the bathroom industry. Planit International, the leading design and visualisation software provider for the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom industries has contributed to the guide and supplied an online ‘play site’ where users can click into the software for a live demonstration and to explore its easy to use functions, features and photorealistic designs.

“We are proud of the CAD for bathrooms guide and believe it will become the ‘voice’ for people in the industry looking to learn more about CAD or to invest in it but wanting to enter the buyers market with a knowledgeable base,” comments Yvonne Orgill, chief executive, Bathroom Manufacturers Association. “Written by leading industry experts, the aim of the guide is to inform and educate individuals within the industry. They also have the opportunity to be assessed and tested on their knowledge of the content and achieve the CAD for bathrooms, Bathroom Academy Merit.”

“Planit International has a strong focus on training and personal development and believes in encouraging new enthusiastic, talented blood into the KBB market,” says Craig Rothwell, managing director, Planit International. “We believe it is important to invest into the future of the industry and are delighted to be involved in opportunities for vocational training such as the Bathroom Academy’s CAD for bathrooms guide.”

“The click through ‘play site’ provided by Planit International allows Bathroom Academy users to experience how CAD can be used for bathroom design and to visualise how a room can look with different ranges, colours and room styles.  The 'play site' provides only a sample of functions compared to what the full Fusion software is capable of, it is highly intuitive software that brings designs to life so that they look just like a photograph of a real working bathroom. Fusion users can use details from up-to-date manufacturer’s catalogues to select exact representations of unit ranges, colours and textures – and drag and drop them into a design.“

The CAD for bathrooms guide is easy to use, with useful sections making the information manageable. The first section details how to choose the right product and refers to what features to look for and what options are available within most packages. The second details rough costs involved, what training and support should be provided and the technology required. Section three details the design options that are available for the CAD systems and how these solutions can affect your business. Further sections include general installation details, frequently asked questions and glossary of terms.

The Bathroom Academy supplies a number of generic guides, all of which are downloadable, including principles of bathroom design, bath guide, bathroom furniture guide and brassware. The emphasis on training is replicated by Planit International which is committed to helping its customers maximise the potential of its Fusion CAD system.

Craig Rothwell comments: “There are plenty of applications on the market that are feature-rich, but the difference lies in the learning process.  As the growing sophistication of design software continues to raise consumer expectation, effective and targeted training must therefore be a major part of the equation if tangible benefits are to be achieved. Therefore training from bodies such as the Bathroom Academy is vital, as is training from the software supplier.  Planit International places strong emphasis on educating Fusion users, helping them to implement its features and functionality to their full potential, to create truly realistic designs, bringing lasting benefits to their business and to customers.”

“With home improvement shows becoming evermore popular and raising awareness of our industry and the government’s drive toward creating more opportunities for vocational training, there’s never been a better time for organisations in the KBB sector to invest in their own future and encourage individuals to further develop their knowledge,” concludes Yvonne Orgil.
